Sometimes being bad can be very, very good… for your wallet! USA Mutual offers the Vice Fund, a mutual fund that specializes in profiting from human transgression by investing in tobacco, guns, alcoholic beverages and gambling. As “sin is evolving,” the fund manager is seeking investments in other companies that he believes will do especially well because of the addictive nature of their products (e.g. e-cigarettes, coffee, smart phones). The Vice Fund has enjoyed blockbuster returns for a number of years, despite what many consider its somewhat unsavory portfolio of investments.
