Using a symbolic-interaction framework puts a human face on gender—showing how gender is at work in familiar dimensions of everyday life. This approach also shows that gender is an important part of social reality. Drawing on the micro theory of symbolic-interaction, describe ways in which gender guides the following:

  • Patterns of everyday interaction, including the ranges of choices available to people
  • Use of space
  • Use of language
